The research director of CARISMA is guided by its academic board. A number of faculty members provide research leadership. These faculty members together with research associates and Ph.D. students have set out to create a vibrant interdisciplinary research environment.
Research Associates
Dr. Frank Ellison
School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics
Research Interests: Mr Ellison has a long standing experience of developing large scale optimisation software and has implemented some world class systems such as APEX and UIMP. He works closely with algorithm researchers, PhD students, and provide support towards implementing complex optimisation algorithms using the sparse simplex (SSX) or interior point method (IPM) solver engine as appropriate.
Background: Mr Ellison has a first class honours degree from University of Oxford, BA(Oxon), The Queen's College, University of Oxford.
