The research director of CARISMA is guided by its academic board. A number of faculty members provide research leadership. These faculty members together with research associates and Ph.D. students have set out to create a vibrant interdisciplinary research environment.

Mr. Dan Di Bartolomeo
Dan is the founder and president of Northfield Information Services, Inc. Before starting Northfield, he held the position of Director of Research at a New York investment firm, where he was responsible for investment strategy and equity, fixed-income, and derivatives research. Dan writes and lectures extensively and frequently presents papers at academic and industry meetings. He teaches a course in Advanced Quantitative Techniques for the Boston Security Analysts Society. He received his degree in applied physics from Cornell University.

Professor David Hand
David J. Hand is Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College. He has broad research interests, including multivariate statistics, classification methods, pattern detection, the interface between statistics and computing, and the foundations of statistics. He is interested in applications in medicine, psychology, and finance.
He has wide-ranging consultancy experience to organisations ranging from banks, through pharmaceutical companies, to governments.

Professor Dilip Madan
Prof. Dilip Madan has two PhD degrees, one in Economics and one in Mathematics. He is a distinguished and highly regarded researcher in financial modelling. He is the recipient of Humboldt Research Award in Mathematics 2006, and is the Managing Editor of the Mathematical Finance Journal.

Dr. Moorad Choudhury
Research Fellow
Dr Moorad Choudhry is Head of Treasury at Europe Arab Bank, a subsidiary of Arab Bank. He joined there from KBC Financial Products in London, the derivatives and convertible bond trading arm of KBC Bank N.V., Brussels. Prior to that he was a vice-president in Structured Finance Services sales and marketing at JPMorgan Chase Bank, a sterling proprietary trader in the Treasury division at Hambros Bank Limited, and a gilt-edged market maker and money markets trader at ABN Amro Hoare Govett Limited. He began his City career at the London Stock Exchange in 1989.
